ISP Engineer (Denver, CO)

Job Responsibilities:

The Inside Plant Engineer will design and ensure implementation of Inside Plant network fiber facilities and elements within a specific geographic area of responsibility. 
•    Will prepare design work packages in an efficient and effective manner. 
•    Ensures engineering records and systems remain accurate for the geographic area. 
•    Interface with Local Network Operations and Tactical Planners to develop the most cost effective design providing high quality telecommunication facilities. 
•    Provides input to Network Planning engineers regarding information affecting capacity requirements. 
•    Develop Network Plans, applying standard architectures and equipment for the CenturyLink Access Network, which includes Central Office Terminals and Digital Loop Carrier. 
•    Evaluate wireless, data switching, voice switching, access, and transport vendors' products and technologies; develop and recommend the standard configurations of wireless switching, access and transport products. 
•    Design and engineer Remote Switch Plans, Transport Plans, and other plans in support of Access Networks.  
•    Understanding of Calix, Adtran and Ericson equipment including previous ISP training and Management is a plus.
•    Strong written and verbal communications skills are required as is the ability to work with well in a team environment

Skills Required:
•    High school diploma or equivalent required, AS or BS degree in technical field preferred
•    Experienced in the use of office productivity tools; Microsoft Office Suite
•    Proficiency in reading maps, blueprints or technical drawings
•    Experience conducting site surveys preferred
•    Understanding of National Electric Safety Code
•    Knowledge of ISP construction and engineering techniques
•    Problem-solving skills
•    Self-starter
•    Well organized
•    Detail-oriented
•    Must be safety-oriented
•    Legible handwriting required
•    Ability to learn quickly and apply newly learned skillset in a field environment
•    Ability to locate telecommunications and other utility facilities which may be in buried, underground in conduit, or aerial environment
