Payroll Specialist

What Will You Do?
Reporting to the Global Head of Payroll, you are required to provide a hands-on focus primarily responsible for the international payroll and also serving as a backup for the US payroll team, including accountability of all associated compliance and statutory reporting activities. Continually execute company’s overall strategy in delivering accurate and timely payrolls, but also ensures legislative changes and trends are learned and taught within the team, take an active lead role in delivering system and process enhancements.

  • Partner with HR & vendors to ensure all pay letters are collated and sent timely for international employees to ensure the employees are paid on time
  • Review of all payrolls returned by vendors, not just checking for the input vs. output, but having a thorough knowledge of each country payrolls
  • Proactively seek, identify, develop, & review any and all payroll & cross-functional processes to ensure maximum efficiencies are realized for company
  • Identify system enhancements and collaborate with the SAP IT staff in defining requirements to mitigate further problems
  • Support special projects, including, preparation of documents, testing of new implementations, and follow-up on timelines and deliverables, lead cross-functional teams as needed
  • Develop new processes that will further streamline existing processes in support of departmental and company cost savings
  • Partake in payroll operational task execution along with ensuring approval process is followed
  • Provide training and leadership to the payroll staff as needed
  • Support internal annual audit, working with internal and external auditors
  • Research and resolve inquiries in a timely manner and with accurate data
  • Work closely with the Global Head of Payroll in mitigating any risks identified while ensuring end to end processes are accurately documented

What Skills Do You Need?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience required
  • FPC or CPP certification required
  • Experience in SAP is strongly desired
  • Minimum of 5 year of overall payroll experience required
  • Minimum of 2 years in international payroll
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with all levels of employees
  • Must be a self-starter with little supervision
  • Ability to define problems, provide resolutions & draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to participate & contribute on cross-functional teams
  • Ability to communicate with employees and management in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to use personal computers, payroll applications & 10-Key machine
  • Advanced or expert level in Microsoft  Excel
  • Ability to maintain strictest level of confidentiality
  • Partner with other teams, but also be an ambassador to the Payroll team
  • Assist with ad hoc reports requests and other payroll accounting tasks as needed
  • This position also requires strong technical and business process skills and the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
